Q) I've been thinking about buying a security system for a while now, but I dont know that much about them. How do they work?

A) A quality security system begins with a control panel. The control panel or brains of the alarm system is hidden in a laundry room, closet or a basement. The visible keypad located at the entrance to your home allows you to arm and disarm your security system while the control panel is out of site. Magnetic contacts are two-part devices used to safeguard windows and doors. A passive infrared motion detector (PIR) is an     electronic security device that detects intruders by "sensing" motion or body heat in the area being protected.

Q) I have a pet! Does that mean I can't install a passive infrared motion detector (PIR)?

A) Absolutely not. Recent innovations in security technology have resulted in "pet immune" PIR detectors-allowing pet owners to enjoy the same level of protection. State-of-the-art PIR sensors provide "pet immunity" for animals weighing up to 100 lbs.

Q) I already have several smoke detectors in my house, so why would I need one installed as part of my security system? What's the difference?

A) The detectors currently installed in your home are not connected to the fire department or central  monitoring station. A detector connected to your alarm sets off an alarm and sends a signal to the control panel. The control panel dials the central station, where the operator notifies the fire department. This can give you the precious few seconds needed to save lives and your property.

Q) I received a mailer for a FREE alarm system. Do you match these offers?

A) No, we believe in providing you with the highest level of customer services as well as cutting edge technologies and products. Many of the FREE alarm systems do not meet our quality specifications. These companies many times will add on additional items and charge higher monitoring costs to offset their FREE alarm.
